1967 International Scout - $13,500 - Las Vegas, NV -

Meet Sydney!

Sydney is a great friend to have.  He's reliable, well looked after, and tons of fun.  Sydney is a 1967 International Scout 800.  We have all the original documentation of the work done to him over his life, including everything we've done to sharpen him up over the past 5 years since we've owned him.  He was bought in Colorado in 1971 from the Rocky Mountain International Dealership.  He was driven around Colorado for a few years, then moved to upstate new york by train in the late 70's.  Then, from what we can gather, sat in a garage for 25 years.  Very little rust on the chassis.  We bought him from a man who had purchased the truck from the second owner in Albany New York.  The second owner had put in a 3" lift kit and did some terrible wiring.  We worked with a mechanic in Albany for a year, and did a lot of work.  Then we moved to Las Vegas, where we found an incredible mechanic who put a lot more man hours into Syd, including a completely new wiring harness with fuse box, brake lines, fuel pump (twice) and connected us with a local painter who Rhino-lined the whole truck inside and out in sea-foam green.

All of the spots of body rust have been sanded out, re-welded and painted over.  He has a 4 cyl, 152 ci slant 4 engine (original).  Transmission is original and in great working order, though top speed with current transmission is 50mph.  It would be very easy to drop a different transmission into the truck and drive at highway speeds without concern.   Syd also has a removable hard top that is certainly in working order, but does need a new paint job and a little love, though a new hard top is probably cheaper.  The driver side windshield wiper are in perfect working order, but the passenger side isn't working.  Syd runs 4 forward gears and 1 reverse gear.  As was true with most trucks from this era, the first gear is geared very low, great for towing, and off-roading!

Here is a list of the other work done to Syd over the past few years since we've owned him.
4 new U Joints
New Master Cyclander
New Brake Lines (plus fluid)
New Radiator

We have a clean title for the truck, it's fully insured and registered in the state of Nevada.  We change the oil every 1500 miles just to be safe.  We have documentation for the work done to Sydney from the late 1990's and on the Factory Service Manual are notes dating back to 1978
