1979 International Scout II - $32,900 - Atlanta, GA -

Scouts have exploded in popularity over the last couple of years, and we've been fortunate to have a supply of some of the best Binders in the Southeast. That trend continues with this example, a highly-optioned 1979 International Harvester Scout II with V8, automatic, power steering, power brakes and factory air conditioning.

This Scout is easily the nicest one currently on the market, and likely one of the best-preserved in existence. With fewer than 63,000 documented original miles, this Scout II looks and drives as close to new as you will find.

It has been repainted once in the original Terra Cotta to a high standard; the wood-grain applique down the sides is a correct reproduction of the original pattern. The paint in the door jambs and under the hood is original. All panels are straight with excellent gaps, the door bottoms, jambs and posts are perfect, and the floor pans and rockers are totally solid and rust free. Bumpers, grille, trim, glass and lenses are excellent.

The interior is all original and incredibly well-preserved. Upholstered in the desirable "Russet" plaid pattern, the seats are showing very little, if any, wear. The door panels are in good shape and the original carpet has worn very well. The dash is also in great shape, with all gauges, switches and indicators working. A period-appropriate AM/FM/Cassette may well be the original unit.

Under the hood is the original 345 cubic-inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission. The truck has been exceptionally well-maintained, with service records from the original owner dating back to 1988 and a mileage and service log back to new. Within the last three years, the truck has seen a new catalytic converter, brake booster, starter, fuel pump, wiper blades, valve cover gaskets, cap and rotor, spark plugs, wires, hoses, belts and a rebuilt carburetor. It's clean and unmolested throughout -- it even has all of its factory smog equipment under the hood, making it legal in all 50 states including California.

The engine runs great, transmission shifts smoothly, steering and brakes feel just as they should, and the a/c works. For more information on this truly remarkable Scout II, give us a call at 404-692-5250.
