1978 International Scout II - $25,900 - Atlanta, GA - This 1978 International Scout II saw a frame-off restoration two years ago; it has an aggressive look, clad in Pepper Grey Metallic with a black soft top, flares, grille, wheels and bumpers. It also comes with its factory hard top and trim panels (optioned with sliding side windows and a Scout roof rack). Custom front and rear bumpers are very nicely done and feature recessed lighting up front. Steel wheels are in excellent shape with nearly new 33x12.50 BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. A four-inch suspension lift gives this truck a great stance and is the perfect compromise between in-town and off-road utility.
The interior shows well with stock high-back bucket sets in front and a bench seat in the rear. Custom roll bar has three-point seat belts for the front passengers and four-point harnesses in the back for kids. The floors are covered with black carpet for a finished look (with Dynamat underneath for extra sound insulation). A modern Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth, USB, aux input, satellite, etc. is fitted in the dash. All gauges, lights and switches are working.
Under the hood is an IH 345 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission; the engine was resealed and the transmission rebuilt 1,000 miles ago. Upgrades include electronic fuel injection, headers, an aluminum radiator and a limited-slip rear axle. All service is up to date; thanks to the fuel injection setup the truck starts and runs very reliably and we are not aware of any current needs.
