1953 International - $26,995 - Atlanta, GA - This 1953 International is the kind of truck that'll have people doing double-takes all day. One most folks have probably never seen one and two it manages to keep its trucky personality while getting a nice dose of comfort and convenience features not to mention a great-running Chevy V8. International gave their trucks a distinctive look that fans will recognize instantly. The low wide grille would endure for almost two decades setting these trucks apart from their more common competitors. International Harvesters were built as tools but someone found the beauty in the design and covered it in burgundy metallic paint that makes it look far more upscale than its original price tag would indicate. Most of the trim was painted to match the body including the grille and bumpers but almost all the original components are still in place right down to the cool release handles on either side of the unusual lift-off hood. The dramatic wood bed features a built-in tool box that hides a fuel cell inside plus a matching tailgate with a big International emblem on it leaving no doubt as to what kind of pickup this is. Other trick details include the split rear window a rear roll pan and tri-bar fog lamps up front just ahead of the mesh grille. There's not a lot of bright trim but the stuff it carries like the IH emblem on the grille the side mirrors running board step plates and the door handles are all in surprisingly good shape after all these years. No factory International Harvester in history was as comfortable and luxurious as the cab in this awesome pickup. With a pair of handsome gray buckets from a late-model a fabricated center console and carpets on the floors it's plush and quiet instead of crude and workmanlike as it was originally. The original dash and steering wheel are in place and that long shifter lever was probably part of the package when it was new but is now cleverly adapted to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. White-faced Auto Meter gauges are set into a genuine wood instrument panel that matches the bed and there are custom enclosures under the dash for both the Vintage Air A/C system and the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. A custom center console features a padded arm rest and a pair of cup holders and getting behind the wheel of this truck actually feels quite modern not ancient. Lift off the hood and you'll find a nicely-dressed 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 for motive power. Nothing exotic just reliable horsepower that's easy to service and with plentiful parts everywhere you go. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake live up top along with chrome valve covers and air cleaner plus a big aluminum radiator up front. A custom front clip from Fatman Fabrication offers power rack-and-pinion steering a coil-over suspension and disc brakes so it tracks straight and true on the highway and feels very polished at speed. Out back there's a Chevy 10-bolt rear end hanging on what might be the original leaf springs and a custom dual exhaust system was fabbed up to give it a muscular soundtrack. Classic steel wheels with International hubcaps and trim rings plus fat Goodyear radials give it an understated yet undeniably muscular stance. An unusual pickup that becomes something altogether unique with a few tasteful upgrades. We know International fans love their trucks so this is a rare opportunity to get a well-built machine that you won't see at every show. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. 1950 International - $7,995 - Mogadore, OH -

I have a 1950 L-160 2 ton International truck.  This very rare cab has hidden hinges.  The cabs were only built like that for one year.  This truck is in excellenct original condition and runs like a watch.  This was a pumper truck and only has 3,900 original miles on it.  It has original interior, heater, and tires and much more.  If you are looking for a truck that you have to do minimal work on and just paint it and go, this is the truck for you.  I would drive it anywhere.  Title and all paperwork is available.  If you have a small business, this would be excellent to drive around with advertising on it.  It really catches the eye, as well as being just a good old truck.

1977 International Scout II - $23,900 - Atlanta, GA -

Although I've always liked International Harvester's nature-inspired 1970s color palette, this re-stored 1977 International Scout II looks utterly fantastic in triple black with white Rallye stripes. The truck was just repainted to a very nice standard; panels are straight with good gaps, door alignment is excellent. The Rallye stripes are correct reproductions and have been expertly ap-plied. Bumpers, grille and trim are in nice shape and the black soft top is nearly new. Dunlop 32x11.50 mud terrain tires on alloy wheels give the truck a great stance. Suspension is stock, but the ride height is a little higher than stock due to the larger tires (32-inch tires are the biggest you can run without a lift). No known topside rust issues; the underside also looks good but has had some repair in the floor pans and inner rockers.

The interior shows very well -- it has been nicely redone with new carpet, new front seat uphol-stery and a re-covered dash; the rear seat upholstery is in very good original condition. A new Alpine AM/FM stereo with aux input is mounted in the dash. Roll bar installation is available for a small fee.

Under the hood is International's 304 cubic inch V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. This Scout has power steering and power disc brakes; both the steering and brakes feel great and make the truck easy to drive. The battery is new and all service is up to date; it starts, runs and drives very well.

1979 International Scout II - $26,900 - Atlanta, GA -

This nicely restored 1979 International Scout II has a great look and great options, including a V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes and cold A/C. Clad in Persimmon with white Rallye stripes, paint quality is excellent (it's base/clear, not single stage) and all panels are straight with good gaps and good door alignment. Glass, grille, side moldings and trim are excellent; rear bumper is straight but has minor patina. Front utility bumper is fitted with desirable (and expensive) Warn 8,000 lb winch. A four-inch suspension lift gives the truck a great stance; Pro Comp alloy wheels with nearly new 33x12.50 mud terrain tires complete the look. The underside is solid with no known rust issues.

The interior is finished with International's one-of-a-kind Russet plaid upholstery; seats are in very good condition and door panels are among the best I have seen. Carpet is new.  Dash is excellent with no cracks in the pad; the steel portion has been repainted and looks great. A modern AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input has been fitted in the dash and a dealer-style A/C unit hangs below.  All gauges, lights, switches and indicators are working properly and all keys work properly.

Under the hood sits International's 345 cubic inch V8; all tune-up and service items are fully to date, including new plugs, wires, rotor, cap, coil, oil, filter, etc. The truck also just got new valve cover and oil pan gaskets, heater hoses, fuel lines and pump, thermostat, temp switch, exhaust, a nice Griffin aluminum radiator and a brand new Edelbrock four-barrel carb with electric choke. The steering column has been rebuilt. A/C has been converted to R-134a and blows cold. The V8 is mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission with Dana 44 axles front and rear (axle ratio is 3.07). The transmission was recently rebuilt and the transfer case and both differentials have just been serviced. The engine bay is very nicely detailed.

In short, it's a no excuses, turn-key truck with excellent mechanicals and a fantastic look. For more information about this International Scout II available at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.
